Formed in 2007, Offpeak 4WD Club is for four wheel drivers who wish to travel during the week with a friendly group of like-minded people.  As our name suggests, we plan our trips so as to avoid weekends and holidays if possible.  Most of our members are retirees, but anyone who is available during the week may join.  We have a wealth of experience within our club but we also welcome members new to four wheel driving.

We offer trips of various degrees of difficulty from easy to very difficult, as well as remote outback trips.  Most of our trips require 4wd low range capabilities. Over the years we have run trips to many iconic destinations, for example the Simpson Desert, Cape York and the Kimberley.  We have also run numerous trips to the Victorian high country and other areas of interest.

Each year we hold a Gathering where members bring their caravans, camper trailers or tents to a country location.  From this base several day trips of varying degrees of difficulty are run.  It is a great time of fun and friendship.

As a small club we are unable to offer four wheel driver training, but we can assist prospective members to undertake this training through Four Wheel Drive Victoria.  We periodically offer training in such areas as basic vehicle maintenance, tyre repair, and vehicle preparation for extended trips. On our trips we focus on correct four wheel drive driving techniques and, when the situation arises, safe recovery practices.

Offpeak 4WD Club is affiliated with Four Wheel Drive Victoria, the peak body for 4wd clubs within the state.  Where possible we offer support to Four Wheel Drive Victoria by assisting with administrative tasks, preparing track notes for 4wd touring routes, track clearing and in other hands-on activities, sometimes in co-operation with other 4wd clubs.
